Cummins Leader up For 'CEO of The Decade' The chief executive officer of Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) and DePauw University alumnus is one of five finalists for MarketWatch's "CEO of the Decade." Tim Solso is noted for spending 30 years at Cummins before landing the top job, then "30 months later he was struggling to save the company."

Cummins Making Big Investment in TurkeyColumbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) says it will invest $70 million in a multi-phased manufacturing operation in Turkey. The engine maker plans to first build a filtration manufacturing plant then a facility to produce alternators for its power generation business. Cummins says it expects to employ 800 people in Turkey within five years.

Solar Panel Company Chooses Columbus


A solar panel company plans to locate its first manufacturing facility in Columbus. NuSun Inc. says it anticipates creating 240 jobs by 2014 by investing nearly $9 million to purchase an existing facility. Columbus Mayor Fred Armstrong says there are still a few items that need to be put in place before the deal is finalized, including securing a state grant.
