Angies List - founded in 1995 in Columbus Ohio, is now located in Indianapolis, IN with over 1 million members.

Angies List has over 450 categories of contractors, services and doctors.  Members submit over 40,000 reviews monthly.  All reviews are checked before posting  This is a nationwide membership service.

Membership includes access to reviews, discounts for services, Angies List magazine, live call center and a complaint resolution team.

Membership fees can vary with location.  For the Indianapolis area there is a $10 sign up fee, then an annual fee of $47.  You can reduce the yearly fee by paying for multiple years upfront.
